James Noel Bolton, 48, 828 Allison Ave., Manhattan, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 at his home after an extended illness.
    He was born Dec. 25, 1951, at Manhattan, the son of James Vaughn Bolton and Betty (Grace) Bolton. He grew up in Manhattan where he attended the local schools and was a graduate of the Manhattan High School in 1970.
    Jim was a lifelong resident of the Manhattan area. He was a self-employed painter for many years and was dedicated to his family, especially his nieces and nephews: Bryan, Jessi, Adam, Brett, Amy and Mitchell.
    He is survived by his mother Betty, Manhattan; his father Vaughn, Manhattan; two brothers, John Bolton, Lenexa, and Tom Bolton, Manhattan; and one sister Katie Donne, Homewood, Ill.
    Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan. Private family inurnment services will be at a later date in the Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan. Memorial contributions can be made to the Jim Bolton Memorial Fund to be designated later and left in care of the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
