Betty (Byrne) Mahan

Betty Louise Mahan, age 40, of 2348 Brockman Drive died Tuesday April 28, 1992 at Saint Mary Hospital following an extended illness.
     She was born February 9, 1952 in Manhattan, the daughter of Thomas Robert and Millie H. Perrill Byrne Jr., and had been a lifetime area resident.
     Mrs. Mahan was a graduate of Manhattan High School in 1970. She was a Office Secretary at the Riley County Kansas Farm Bureau Office for the past five years, and had previously worked for the Manhattan Alco Store.
     She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
     On November 8, 1969 in Manhattan she married Clifford E. Mahan. He survives of the home. Also surviving is one son, Lance Ernest Mahan, and one daughter, Sandra Louise Mahan both of Manhattan; her mother, Millie M. Byrne of Manhattan; four brothers, David Ray Byrne and Clifford Bohl of Manhattan, Thomas Robert Byrne of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Colonel (Ret.) Richard Byrne of St. Louis, Missouri and one sister: Anna Marie Benning of San Jose, California.
     Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday at the Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Saddler officiating. Interment will be in Sunrise Cemetery.
     A memorial fund has been established for the Free Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Edwards-Yorgensen-Meloan Funeral Home which is handling arrangements.
