Richard E. Karsmizki

A young Manhattan man was found dead Monday at his. residence of an apparent suicide. Dead is Richard E. (Rick) Karsmizki, 23 of 922 Bluemont. According to police two young boys discovered his body lying in the camper portion of his pickup truck which was parked in back of his home.
    Police said Karsmizki apparently shot himself with a shotgun. Riley County Coroner Philip Hostetter pronounced him dead at the scene. Hostetter judged the man had been dead at least three days.
    Karsmizki was born November 5, 1952, in Galesburg, Ill.
    He had lived in Manhattan since 1955 and worked at Walters Construction Co. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and was a 1970 graduate of Manhattan High and had attended K-State.
    Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Karsmizki, 2457 Hobbs; maternal grandmother, Mrs. John Uhlmann, Galesburg, Ill.; two brothers, Ronald Karsmizki, 2457 Hobbs Dr. and Robert Karsmizki, 2457 Hobbs Dr.; one sister, Deborah Karsmizki, 2457 Hobbs Dr.
    Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise Cemetery with the Rev. Alvin Zimmerman officiating. Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
