Kenneth Selby

Kenneth George Selby, age 71 of Manhattan, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Via Christi Village in Manhattan.

He was born on August 21, 1952, in Manhattan, the son of George and Betty (Ebel) Selby. He graduated from Manhattan High School and following graduation; he served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic.

On January 2, 1970, he married Deanna Kay Parker.

After his service in the military, Kenneth worked as an auto mechanic for Frank's 66, Clay’s Mobil and Elkin's Automotive in Manhattan, and later a truck driver before his retirement. He served on the Ashland Township Board. He was a lover of Model A’s and enjoyed hunting and shooting guns.

He is survived by two sons, Quentin Selby of Manhattan and Kenneth Selby, Jr. (Kristie) of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Gary Selby of Topeka; one sister, Sandy Selby of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ian Selby, Santana Selby, Kyla Selby, Dakota Selby and Kegan Selby; two great grandchildren, Cameron Selby and Zayden Selby, and his aunt, Susie Wagner (Dee).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Selby in 2022.

Cremation is planned with a memorial service at the Ashland Community Church to be held at a later date.
