Gene Tucker

Charles Eugene "Gene" Tucker, age 66, of Manhattan, died Friday November 23, 2018 at the Stormont Vail Health Center in Topeka. He was born on March 29, 1952 in Manhattan, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Belden) Tucker. He grew up in the Manhattan area and attend Manhattan schools.

Gene was a man of few words and a quiet person. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed his job. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Manhattan Trenching. When he was not at work, he enjoyed playing at home on his skid loader and driving his 4x4 mule and four-wheelers. He had many friends in the community and always enjoyed visiting with all of them. Gene loved animals, especially his dog.

On March 29, 1996 in Manhattan, he was united in marriage to Susan LeBold. She survives at their home.

Gene was preceded in death by his father Raymond and his brother Clarence.

In addition to his wife he also survived by his step-daughter, Sharon Whitebread (Rodney), of Fort Worth, Texas; his mother Gladys Tucker, of Manhattan; his sister Terry Collins (Joe); and his sister-in-law Amy Tucker.

Gene's wishes were to be cremated and no services to take place. The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
