Spouse: Tim   Married: 1971
Children: Megan Wright, Marilee Hough, Matthew, Luke
2005 Biography: Tim and I met in college and married while still in college. We then moved to a small town in Ks. where he taught Math and coached Basketball. After living there for 5 yrs. we moved back to Manhattan where he also taught and coached (he is quite a good BB coach if I do say so myself! :) for 5 yrs. After living in Ks. City for a year we move to the Dallas/Ft.Worth area of Texas and lived there for 13 yrs. where Tim made the move to administration of Christian Schools. I was a full time Mom for about 15 yrs. and then started teaching part time. In 1996, with our two daughters grown and the two boys in middle school and high school, we went to Kenya, Africa, and worked in a boarding school for missionary children. There, at Rift Valley Academy, we both taught, coached and worked in Administration. After being there for 6 yrs. and finding that Africa "gets in your blood" we none-the-less made the move here to Beijing where Tim is the Administrator of a growing International school.
I am currently working to start a small export business called China Safari (website: China-Safari.com) and a NPO Called Beijing Volunteer Network while also trying to learn Mandarin Chinese. :-)
We are really grateful to the Lord for the wonderful years He has given us thus far and the adventures He has led us into. I must say, that if you are willing to go 'wherever He leads you' life is never boring!
Occasionally it crosses my mind to wonder just what the next adventure might be, but mostly I am just in the midst of this one! :-)

I hope we have a wonderful turn out.     I have recently made contact with Carla (Belcher) Hasenbank!! We try to get together every couple of weeks for lunch and correspond in between. Spouse: Earl   Married: 1997

2005 Biography: Well, let's see... after MHS and KSU, I dabbled in retail management in KCMO enough to know that I never wanted to do THAT again. Fine waste of an education in Fashion Marketing, eh? After that realization, I guess you could say that I went nuts.... Planter's Nuts, that is: Dry Roasted, Chopped and Slivered. I moved up the corporate ladder to the pinnacle of handling the Wal-Mart and Sam's Club headquarters accounts (while living in Dallas for 8 years). That success catapulted me to the Head NUT HOUSE - Nabisco Headquarters in Winston-Salem, NC. There I fell in love with North Carolina, the southern accent and the South in general.
After many years of resisting the urge to "tie the knot," I finally took the plunge and married a wonderful man from NC – (partly so I could continue to hear that southern accent!). Of course, he had NO IDEA what he was getting himself into by getting hitched to me, but he's continuing to stick it out. Brave man!
After leaving the NUT HOUSE of Planters/Nabisco, I took a year off and finally gave into the calling to ministry. Many were "shocked" to hear that I went into the ministry, but none more so than I! Ministry had never entered my mind as something I’d EVER want to do. But it was the most rewarding work I've ever done.
I am still an ordained minister, but have decided that church ministry is not for me. However, I love to perform weddings and counsel people in relationships and life in general. Matter of fact, I'll be performing a wedding on a luxury cruise yacht in a few weeks. That will be fun!
For fun - I love getting together with friends and family, playing golf and tennis, playing games (but not with Rex Westmeyer who cheats when playing "Guesstures" - just ask him!), theater, movies, traveling, etc. I'm not too hard to please - especially when someone ELSE is doing the cooking!
Momentarily, I am selling advertising for BellSouth Yellow Pages in Charlotte, NC. But that is subject to change... don't think this is quite a match. One of these days I'm going to have my life all figured out, I'm just sure of it!! But it's sure been a FUN ride, thus far! Bottom line: I have been, and continue to be, very blessed... Well, that's it for me in a NUT-shell!

2010 Biography: Living in Lawrence now and working in Kansas City as an employee benefits consultant. Husband is retired and playing golf whenever possible. Sold our San Jose, CA house before losing all the equity in the big bust. Hoping to retire soon, but health care reform is keeping me busy, busy, busy.

Joe Barani
Littleton, CO
2015 Biography: In the broadest sense, I have always been an artist. Art is a process. For me, this process takes line, color, form and texture and makes them into something else. My paintings are like wishes. While painting, the pigments of paint will move with their own graces. Unfolding into the next wish, like wishes coming true.
I am the observer participating with that which is being observed. My whole being becomes the receiver. Painting the message. I learn to listen. There is a deep communication that goes into the art. A kind of metaphor between the past or future and the present moment. Each piece of artwork is meant to encourage the viewer to look a little longer. Maybe hoping to evoke a memory that may inspire.
I use water-based mediums because water is easily available and the paints can be transported simply to different locations. This allows me the freedom to wander and discover new arrangements.
I use different surfaces such as papers and boards. Some rich with texture and others hard and unnoticeable. While painting, I explore the color as a balance between light and dark. Unknowns working toward understanding. Sharing their sense of line or texture. Revealing a soul though my hands.
It is the landscape that I look to as a subject. This may be by giving only its impression without losing the construction of nature itself. I use passages through my work to guide the viewer through forms and colors. Landscape painting is my way of preserving a place. It is my way of believing it will be there tomorrow. It is my way of questioning our presence. I hope that my paintings might symbolize an answer to the viewer.

Pam (Barrett) Hodges
Salina, KS
Spouse: Joe   Married: 1973
Children: Bill, Steve, Sarah
2005 Biography: We have lived in Salina for 27 years. Joe and his partner own a business called Habco which does work on grain elevators, feed mills, etc.
Four years ago, our two sons decided to join the military. Bill joined the Marines (four years) and Steve joined the Army (three years). Steve and his family are living in Manhattan while he attends K-State, and when Bill is discharged from the Marines, he and his family will be doing the same. He and his wife are expecting a baby boy in August (about the time he's getting home from Iraq).
Our daughter, Sarah graduated a year ago from Aurora University near Chicago, and she lives and works at a business there.
We've spent most of our vacation time the last several years between North Carolina (Camp LeJeune), Kentucky (Fort Campbell), and Chicago.
We live just outside of Salina where we have enough space that our three dogs (who've become surrogate children) can run and swim in a small pond nearby.
I'm a "test taster" for Schwan's foods two mornings a week, I also do volunteer work at our church and the Salina Regional Health Center.
With our parents and other family members in Manhattan, we still spend quite a bit of time there. We especially enjoy the K-State football games where we have lots of fun "tailgating" with family and friends.

2020 Biography: I had always believed I would spend my life in Kansas. Maybe not Manhattan, but the Kansas area. I ended up in Kansas City after leaving KSU, got a job writing advertising copy for Western Auto. I believe I was making $125 a week. Western Auto decided to create a television ad that featured employees. Volunteers were requested, and I volunteered.
The director of the commercial asked me if I was interested in doing more commercial work. I said, ok, not giving it much thought. Then a day later an agent called me and offered me an audition, based on the director's input. Next thing I know, I'm in front of Dennis Fremerman and Bernie Papin of Fremerman-Papin ad agency, saying "get a dog-gone good deal!"
Next thing I know I'm the new talking head for Dick Smith Fordtown in Raytown. "Get a dog-gone good deal" became an overnight success and ran for several years. I appeared in other ads, Quittin'Time beer (my personal favorite), Smaks hamburgers (I appeared with Smaky the Seal, offered him money to reveal his identity, nope) and Crocker Bank (out of business, you're welcome).
A coin flip with a friend (heads we go to California, tails we stay in KC) changed the calculus. I had residual money from Dick Smith and a Farmer's COOP corporate movie SAG wages. I won't tell how much that was, but I have paid off bar bills that were larger.
I arrived in California spring of 1978, by 1981 I was married. That's all you need to know. My history is reset on my wedding day, and my biggest accomplishments are my children.
I'll close by saying that our children didn't care much for Manhattan Kansas. Can't say I blame them. But miraculously our daughter had become the hugest Kansas sports fan, ever. She shames me sometimes.
Thank you for the opportunity to tell my personal story. But my larger story is: I'm a kid from Manhappiness KS. Proud of it. Never forget it. Can't wait to see you all!

2022 Biography: Hi Everyone! Still kicking… Retired from Medicine in 2012 (temporarily…read on) to rehab houses with brother Bob. Done with that now except for our coup de gras in the Rocky Mountains. He and I have gone from arguing about who got to sleep with Pedro our chihuahua (b. 1956 - d. 1972) to politics. My good friend Hak Sung Chung (eye doc in Atlanta whose solo practice cared for the Korean population there) died suddenly in 2017, and guess who got drafted to help out for two years? A remarkable culture, and a great experience. Back in Chicago and bored, I rejoined Northwestern Univ Medicine to train residents and see patients part-time. Partner Linda (30 yrs) is the sober, serious, reasonable one who keeps me grounded. Mary Wheat made me play piano at her mom’s funeral (barely got through that). Margaret W and I understood each other. Miss her. I’m mostly vegetarian now, enjoy a good whiskey Old Fashioned, and do imitations of Vladimir Putin’s mother for fun. Now you know EVERYTHING! Looking forward to seeing you all.

2005 Biography: Thanks for the reminder it's been 35 years since graduating from MHS.... gezz, where did the time go? Funny about the timing.... just yesterday my son (age 14, eight grade) and I met with his Dean to begin mapping his future / HS curriculum. Ian's the sunshine in our lives. (I was pregnant with Ian when attending our 20th reunion!)
My husband, Ken, and I were fortunate to retain our positions within the Farm Bureau Financial Services Group, Inc. merger of Kansas and Nebraska FB organizations that started in Manhattan, 2001. We've been in the Des Moines headquarters for almost 3 years now -- love DM!! Lots to offer in this growing city yet has that good ole mid-western culture.

2000 Biography: Greetings! I have been in Lincoln, NE since my 16-year old daughter Claire O’Brien was mere 2 months old. Claire, 16-looking-like-she’s 20, would like to model. My son, Cameron O’Brien, 14 is a serious artist and skateboarder. I also have two wonderful stepsons, Lucas, 14 and Nick 12 who currently reside in Western Nebraska. Some of my more memorable activities include producing and hosting my own radio show, Buffalo Soul for five years. During that time I was a volunteer at the Nebraska State Pen, working with inmates on a weekly basis. That’s where I met John Arias, my soul mate. We were married 3 years ago. These days I advocate for my husband and am forming a support group for friends and families of inmates to network with various agencies. Although I work full-time as a cook at a rehab center, my long-time passion is still writing. As a free-lance journalist my articles featuring Native American performers have been published in the US and Canada. Together John and I are slowly getting Arias Publications off the ground with our first poetry book, IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT. Our goal is to help promote and publish Ethnic poetry. Retirement plans!? To enjoy life NOW with no regrets later!

Spouse: Dorrie   Married: 1991
Children: Sonya, Amanda1
Step-Children: Shelly, Jerry
Grandchildren: 6
2022 Biography: Very happily married for 31 years (together for 37 years). Living in Olympia, WA in the beautiful Pacific NW since 1981. We have a blended family with four children (Sonya, Amanda, Shelly, Jerry) and six grandchildren who all live in Olympia. I am an only child and moved my parents here from Manhattan 30 years ago. Mom recently passed at 93 and Dad in good health at 90 and still driving the freeway. He ran Mr. Steak for 22 yrs in Manhattan (see the Mr. Steak #278 facebook page for all those who worked for him) and he still does computer programming at my law firm. I am still working full-time and will be 70 soon. I will likely work until 80, if the Lord allows it, mainly because I like what I do and have a lot of people depending upon me to keep the firm going. Seven office locations and 10 attorneys and 40 staff to manage keeps me active. I am still playing guitar and riding motorcycles. My wife and I like to spend weekends at our Lakehouse on Anderson Island so that we can enjoy time with the family. Daughter Amanda (with MHS classmate Avanelle from my 2nd marriage) is a Pastor and recently obtained her Doctorate in Divinity and her husband Michael has been an attorney with my law firm for about 16 years. Hopefully he will be taking over one of these days so I can retire. Oldest daughter Sonya has worked at my law firm for over 20 years. Wife Dorrie took early retirement at age 52 and volunteers for many community service activities and at our church and with the Olympia Garden Club. My wife and I love to travel overseas whenever we can. If any of you find yourselves in Seattle or the Pacific NW, (or would like to visit this area) let me know. We love company and would welcome the chance to show you the mountains and the ocean/Puget Sound).
