2015 Biography: We've been in LA since 1987.  Rick's job in milling was to keep us here for five years.  28 years later, we are still here.  Too many people but LOVE the weather.  Rick and I are both retired, Rick recently, so he's adjusting to "what shall I do today".
I am a member of the Assistance League of Huntington Beach.  It is a rewarding experience and I enjoy it.  Keeps me out of trouble for most part.
Gave up Jose Cuervo a few years ago when I discovered there were better tequilas out there. I have a pretty good collection of good tequilas....so if you are ever in the neighborhood stop in and we can have sip a few.
I was all set to attend this year's reunion.  However, an assistance league conference was scheduled at same time.

Greg Dowling
West Vancouver, BC, Canada
Children: Brenna
2022 Biography: After graduating from High School I attended Kansas State University to start working toward my life-long ambition of becoming an architect. I graduated in 1975 with my architectural degree and moved to Wichita to start my career. I spent the next 6 years in Wichita working with smaller practices to build up my experience. Through a number of interesting circumstances, I found myself in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1981 and have been here ever since. That change was quite fortunate for me both professionally and personally. I established my own practice in 1988, and enjoyed a diverse portfolio of larger scale projects throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Rim, taking me to places like Australia, Japan, Korea, China and the Western Pacific. I retired from that practice in 2017, but continue a smaller practice, designing custom homes in various places in the world. I met my wife in 1984 and we have one child, Brenna, who is now a high school teacher. I’m presently single, and in my spare time, which is now more than my work time, I enjoy snowshoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking and anything that keeps me active and fit. My main interest now is in travel. I traveled a great deal in my work, but I limit my practice now so that I can spend as much time as possible traveling the world and experiencing its cultures, places and people wherever I find myself. It's been a fascinating journey, in many ways, and my goal is to continue that journey for a long time yet to come. I still have family in Kansas, but rarely return to visit, but do love hosting visitors to this beautiful place I call home. I regret not keeping in touch with many of you, but look back fondly to the experiences that we shared so long ago and marvel at the fact that we somehow managed to live through some of our escapades together. Hopefully, our paths will cross again someday, somewhere in the world.

Irais (Virginia Dunbar) Sikkenga
Muskegon, MI
Spouse: Jerry   Married: 1981
Children: Sandra Lea Krysch, Angela Marie Krysch
Grandchildren: 6
2009 Biography: After I left school, I married and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, which was my husband's home town. We were married for 11 years and had two children. We then divorced and I remarried to a wonderful man and continue to live in Michigan. Both of my daughters live near by and Sandra is divorced and has 3 children. Angela is divorced and has 3 children.
I worked in employment services for Goodwill Industries for 22 years then moved on to work at Every Woman's Place and have been here for going on ten years. I primarily work in the department of Employment and Support Services/Transitional supportive Housing Program. Every Woman's Place is a shelter for battered women and children. Once they are ready to return to the community and want to work, I assist them with finding safe affordable housing, job readiness of developing or revamping their resume, interviewing techniques, and job leads within their vocational interest and qualifications.
My husband (Jerry) works for an industrial wholesale company and he does inside sales which he has been doing for over 30 years.
As for fun, we basically do seasonal camping from April 15 thru September 30th.
I continue to reborn play doll to life-like dolls which is growing in the collector's world of dolls. They are a conversational piece to say the least and very theraputic for others.
I lost my Mother in the year 2000 and moved my Dad to Michigan to keep an eye on him. Since he moved here, he has remarried and moved back to Manhattan. I still visit Manhattan occasionally since my family lives there.

Linda (Dungan) Zwickl
Wichita, KS
Spouse: Duane    Married: 1983
Website: www.getshirtshere.com

2015 Biography: Duane and I are still in Wichita, keeping  busy running Special T's Screen Printing. We just passed 38 years in the screen printing industry, 27 years in owning our own business. I guess we have weathered the ups and downs, and I am happy to say, business has recovered and is better than ever.  The problem is, we’re now 5 years older and the pace is challenging at times.     Since the last update, we are finally done racing, as in owning a car or driving one.  Duane still helps crew weekly for friends, and we help with body fabrication and doing vinyl graphics and lettering for a few cars.  I have found that Saturdays can be used for any number of other fun things, like remodeling projects, which I have lots lined up.
Several major life events have occurred since 2010.  We lost my Mom suddenly in 2011.  She was exceptionally healthy and very independent for all her retirement years, which was a blessing.  Her rapid passing was so very hard for us, but was as she would have wished for.  We laugh that the woman was so organized, she even had her exit in order.  Her daughters are not that skilled.
In October 2013, Duane suffered sudden cardiac death, which basically meant he dropped in his tracks.  No warning, not a heart attack, but he’s still here and doing great after bypass surgery.  We were at the race track at the time, so the EMS crew was right there, then the fire department EMT’s, then the county crews, all of them took a turn to bring him back.  Odds of survival when this occurs outside a hospital are 9.6%.  We are blessed beyond understanding. While this happened, his sister and her husband both had heart attacks, all within two weeks.
And so, we have begun a new passion that combines work and play.  We are proud to have become the exclusive garment printers for two professional a capella groups, Straight No Chaser and Home Free.  The production company in California also manages A Great Big World, Morgan James and jazz musician Brian Culbertson so we are adding them as artists that are selling our shirts.  We spend most of our vacation time traveling to see them perform.  We are up to 20 performances for SNC and with the new album tour, we will add at least 4-5 more this year.  We have traveled to Mesa, AZ, Chicago, Las Vegas (twice) and plan on Nashville and Memphis this fall.  For every artist or group that didn’t live up to their last album, these guys bring it each show, they are so good live! Check them all out on YouTube, or catch a show, you will enjoy it. Here is a link if you want to find out more: www.SNCmusic.com
I have enjoyed keeping in touch through Facebook, I know many folks think it's a waste of time, but the speed of sharing info and photos for so many daily events keeps me closer to bunches of people daily. Now that we have more weekend time, we enjoy working on the house and yard, going to movies (which we never did before stadium seating) and we still plan road trips for drum corps events. This will be my third consecutive reunion, I have had such a good time, I keep coming back. Good people from a great place. I plan on spending more time searching through the places of my childhood this trip, if I can find them. Guess I'll be back in 5 years to update this info, but if I win the lottery, I'll be passing through on the way to find a bigger roller coaster!

Laguna AFS, CA.  Our first daughter was 4 months old when we moved to Colorado Springs for 15 months, before spending 4 years in Denver.  Our second daughter was 28 months old when we moved to Colorado Springs in 1986.  I was a full time mom, volunteering with Girl Scouts, Park & Rec programs, PTA, and other school activities until 1992, when I began working for a locally owned educational toy store.  I managed the store for almost 7 years until it closed in 2004, then worked and managed a locally owned women's clothing boutique until retiring in 2007.  Curt completed a 20 year career with the Air Force, and worked for 13 years for defense contractor, Northrop Grumman, before also retiring in 2007.  We enjoy live theatre performances, particularly musicals, at many venues along the Front Range, and we participate in non-competitive walking events in our area.  We have enjoyed some international travel in conjunction with walking, since 2011.  My mother (age 99), and Curt's mom (age 95) are residents of the same assisted living facility in Manhattan, and we have additional family in the area, so we visit about 6 times a year.  Both of our married daughters live close to us in Colorado Springs.

Laura Gray-Riley
Austin, TX
Spouse: Chris Riley   Married: 1983
Children: Jason, Andrea
2005 Biography: Howdy from your Texas classmate. Texas has been my home for the past 32 years. I moved to Dallas the winter of 1973 when (some may remember) Kansas experienced a cold northerner that left 10" of snow on the ground topped with a sheet of ice. I have never been fond of cold weather, so when I crossed the Oklahoma border into Texas and found warm spacious sunny skies, I knew I was going to stay. After pursuing a variety of management jobs in Dallas, I became a Marketing Services Manager for a manufacturing firm in Garland, TX located just outside of Dallas. While attending collage night courses, I met my future husband, Chris. We married in '83 and started a video rental business while I attended college full time. We sold that business upon the birth of our son Jason and I started a new business in child care. After Chris graduated from UT Dallas, he landed a job in Arlington, TX where we lived for 3 years. A better job offer came from Applied Materials in Austin as a CAD Systems Analyst. So, we packed everything plus daughter Andrea and moved to Austin. I was a stay at home mom for several years, involved in school, church, and Girl Scout activities. When there was any spare time from these activities, you could find me in the yard, gardening.
As for my kiddos, Jason will be entering the Austin CC Fire Fighting Academy this fall while Andrea will be entering her junior year in high school. Sorry folks, we will not be attending the reunion as Chris just started a new job. I do have three brothers that live in Manhattan and try to get back to visit as often as possible. Hope to see ya'll at the next reunion.
